Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse

About the role

The Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse provides specialized, full‑time nursing care to critically ill and high‑risk newborns in the NICU of Nueva Ecija Doctors Hospital. Working on‑site, the nurse collaborates closely with neonatologists and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence‑based care for each infant and support for families.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and clinical status of newborns continuously.
• Administer medications and manage infusion therapies according to physician orders.
• Operate and maintain life‑support equipment such as ventilators and incubators.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in partnership with the healthcare team.
• Provide family‑centered education and emotional support to parents and guardians.
• Document observations, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to infection‑control protocols and maintain a safe clinical environment.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in neonatal intensive and critical care nursing.
• Strong foundation in patient assessment, care planning, and clinical documentation.
• Knowledge of critical care medicine principles and neonatal medicine protocols.
• Valid professional nursing license; BSN or equivalent degree preferred.
• Previous experience in a NICU or pediatric critical‑care setting is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly with families.
• Commitment to patient safety, infection‑control standards, and continuous professional development.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
