Mine Planning Engineer (Underground)

About the role

OceanaGold is seeking a qualified Engineer – Mine Planning to support the Didipio underground mine in the Philippines. The role focuses on developing safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible extraction plans.

Key responsibilities

• Develop short‑term and long‑term underground mine plans.
• Analyze geological data to optimise extraction strategies.
• Assist in risk assessments and create mitigation plans.
• Identify factors that could affect project delivery and recommend corrective actions.
• Communicate risk impacts and support decision‑making.
• Evaluate constructability and feasibility of mining projects.
• Assess reliability and uncertainty of engineered components and processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an underground mining environment.
• Registered Mining Engineer.
• Experience developing short‑term underground plans (Mining Instruction Plans, 7/21 Rolling Weekly Plans, Stope Notes).
• Driver’s licence and Radio Operator’s licence are advantageous.
• Knowledge of both surface and underground mining operations.
