MEPEO Manager – Environmental Compliance Lead

About the role

The MEPEO Manager leads the implementation and monitoring of the Annual Environmental Protection and Enhancement Plan (AEPEP) for a mining operation, ensuring compliance with Philippine environmental regulations and corporate sustainability goals. This role coordinates environmental reporting, waste management, and forestry programs while driving continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System (EMS).

Key responsibilities

• Implement mitigating measures and monitoring programs outlined in the Environmental Impact Statement and AEPEP.
• Update AEPEP and related plans when measures prove ineffective or operational changes occur.
• Prepare and submit required environmental reports, including compliance monitoring, semi‑annual waste and tailings reports, and quarterly greening program updates.
• Ensure compliance with DAO regulations and ISO 14001 certification requirements.
• Oversee planning, preparation, and execution of forestry and related environmental activities.
• Audit, analyze, and report environmental performance to internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct impact assessments to identify and mitigate environmental risks.
• Promote environmental awareness and provide training to staff at all levels.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Philippine mining and environmental legislation (DAO 2010‑21, DAO 2015‑02, DAO 2015‑07).
• Experience managing environmental management systems and ISO 14001 compliance.
• Proven ability to prepare technical reports and manage regulatory submissions.
• Excellent coordination and supervisory skills.
