Medical Assistant – Migration Health Assessment Centre

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Medical Assistant to support its Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) in Manila. Working under the Chief Migration Health Officer and the Senior Medical and Information Management Assistant, you will provide essential reception and data‑entry services to migrants undergoing health assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide migrants with information about health assessments via email and phone.
• Register migrants in the IOM database, schedule and confirm medical appointments.
• Receive and relay messages between medical staff and beneficiaries.
• Prepare and submit master lists of migrants scheduled for health assessments to relevant service providers.
• Maintain daily statistics and reports related to the assessment process.
• Flexibly support either the reception and data‑processing unit or the communications centre as needed.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills in English; ability to interact professionally with migrants and staff.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.
• Flexibility to handle varied tasks across sub‑units.
