Job description
About the role
The Project Management Officer (PMO) plays a central controlling role within the Markets Operations Transformation organisation, supporting delivery rigour, governance, planning, reporting and assurance across the portfolio. The role supports both the Markets Operations AI Transformation Programme (MOAT) and the wider Markets Operations Transformation agenda, acting as a central point of control, transparency and coordination across Markets. It supports senior governance forums and ensures progress, delivery risk and executive reporting are clear.
Key responsibilities
- Operate as PMO across the portfolio, maintaining agreed project management standards, governance and reporting controls, and a consolidated view of scope, achievements, RAID, decisions, benefits and financials.
- Maintain coordinated delivery plans with milestones, owners, dependencies and timelines, keeping plans accurate in Clarity where required, and hold workstream and project leads accountable for timely updates.
- Support investment planning, consolidating business line, BCO and cross-Markets requests, and track CapEx, change OpEx, carry-over projects, resilience items, regulatory initiatives and other operations-led transformation demand.
- Maintain a RAID view, keep delivery status, risk posture and executive reporting aligned, and support issue resolution by identifying owners, required decisions and target closure dates.
- Produce clear, concise reporting for senior forums, including ExCo-level materials, highlighting progress, blockers, decisions needed and the forward outlook.
- Maintain structured repositories for portfolio materials such as workstream plans, governance packs, minutes, action logs, investment planning artefacts, RAID logs and reporting packs, and help embed an outcome-focused PMO culture.
Required profile
- Essential: experience in a PMO role within an enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of portfolio governance, delivery planning, RAID management, action tracking, milestone control and executive reporting.
- Desirable: experience in financial services, markets, operations, COO, risk, controls, technology or regulatory environments.
- Desirable: experience supporting automation, operational excellence, process improvement or operating model transformation programmes, investment planning, business case development, portfolio prioritisation or funding submissions.
- Desirable: experience working across multiple business lines, legal entities, geographies or functional teams.
- Personal attributes: highly organised, proactive, outcome-focused, confident, detail-oriented, clear communicator, commercially aware and able to build trust quickly.
Required skills
- Hands-on experience using Clarity or similar project/portfolio management tools for planning, tracking, resource management and financial control.
- Experience supporting governance forums, including agenda management, pack production, minutes, decisions and action tracking.
