Data & Systems Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

Western Digital is seeking a Data & Systems Engineer to automate inspection data collection and reporting within its manufacturing operations. The role focuses on analysing yield‑impacting trends, building real‑time dashboards and supporting data‑driven decision‑making across cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Automate inspection data collection and reporting to improve visibility and accuracy.
• Analyse data to identify yield‑impacting patterns and develop real‑time dashboards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, automation and vendor teams to integrate data from multiple systems.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives that simplify processes and boost factory efficiency.
• Maintain and troubleshoot inspection tools, coordinating upgrades and repairs with vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Mechatronics, Industrial, Computer Engineering, IT or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience with statistical data analysis, AI‑based inspection, machine learning, Python, SQL or IoT platforms, preferably in electronics or semiconductor manufacturing.
