Legal Officer – Banking Litigation

About the role

The Legal Officer will join the Non‑Credit, Criminal and Cybercrime department of a leading bank. You will be responsible for handling litigation matters that affect the bank’s operations, ensuring that each case is managed efficiently and in line with current laws.

Key responsibilities

• Prosecute or defend cases involving the bank, ensuring effective and efficient outcomes.
• Evaluate, monitor, and update all assigned cases on an ongoing basis.
• Attend hearings, draft pleadings, and cite up‑to‑date laws and jurisprudence.
• Prepare executive summaries, maintain the division’s case database, and fulfill all administrative requirements of a litigation lawyer.
• Report case progress regularly to the Department Head or Division Head.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• Law degree from a reputable law school.
• Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience.
• Strong understanding of banking operations and current banking laws, rules, and procedures.
• Proficiency in judicial and administrative procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Assertive, tactful, and able to work well within a team.
