Legal Counsel – Philippines

About the role

POP MART is seeking a Legal Counsel to lead and manage all legal affairs for its operations in the Philippines. The role provides strategic and hands‑on support for business roll‑out, licensing, import/export compliance, and contract management, working closely with internal teams, regional headquarters, and government agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and finalize commercial agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, leases and construction contracts.
• Maintain the contract approval matrix and ensure systematic archiving of all legal documents for the Philippine entity.
• Apply for all required licenses and permits to support investment and business operations.
• Provide dedicated legal support for strategic projects, from inception to completion, covering regulatory, licensing and compliance aspects.
• Conduct legal research, manage legal risks, and ensure compliance with local laws such as the Corporation Code, Data Privacy Act, anti‑bribery statutes, employment law and consumer protection.
• Develop, implement and monitor compliance programs and corporate governance policies.
• Handle corporate secretarial matters and maintain good corporate governance.

Required profile

• Law degree with a valid Philippine bar license.
• Proven experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance and contract management.
• Strong project‑management abilities and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal stakeholders and external authorities.
