About the role
The Information School at the University of Sheffield is recruiting a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Data Science. The successful candidate will contribute to the School’s research excellence and expand its teaching portfolio in data science and responsible AI.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in data science.
- Lead and participate in research projects, publishing in high‑impact venues.
- Collaborate across disciplines to integrate fairness, accountability, transparency, ethics, safety and security (FATES) principles into data‑driven research.
- Supervise student projects and theses.
Required profile
- PhD (or equivalent) in data science, computer science, statistics or a related discipline.
- Developing research record for Lecturer level or an established record for Senior Lecturer level.
- Demonstrated teaching experience at higher‑education level.
- Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and responsible AI practices.
