Lawyer (Litigation and Research)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Lawyer to join our legal team, focusing on both litigation and research functions for a major bank. The role involves representing the bank in court and administrative proceedings, as well as providing corporate and tax legal advice.

Key responsibilities

• Handle and monitor all court, quasi‑judicial and administrative cases filed by or against the bank in Metro Manila and surrounding provinces.
• Defend lawsuits targeting the bank, its officers and employees for actions performed within their official duties.
• Manage cases involving bank fraud, personnel, labor matters, writs of possession or ejectment, and deficiency claims.
• Provide legal assistance to bank staff required to testify in external cases under subpoena.
• Prepare and submit regular case tracking reports to the Office of the Chief Legal Counsel.
• Render legal opinions and counsel on corporate matters, financing of major projects, subsidiaries, affiliates, and tax issues affecting the bank.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B., J.D.) and membership in the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.
• Minimum two (2) years of active legal practice.
• At least twelve (12) months of litigation experience.
• At least two (2) years of legal research experience.
