Junior Preconstruction / Bid Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and organized Junior Preconstruction / Bid Coordinator to support the pre‑construction, bidding and subcontractor coordination for multiple ground‑up multifamily and mixed‑use projects in Yonkers and Orange. This entry‑level position offers training and guidance, providing a pathway to grow within the construction and real‑estate development field.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in assembling and organizing project budgets.
• Send out RFPs (Requests for Proposal) to subcontractors and vendors.
• Coordinate bidding efforts across 40+ construction trades.
• Follow up with subcontractors to ensure timely receipt of bids.
• Handle bidder questions and communicate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and consultants.
• Organize and track RFIs (Requests for Information).
• Maintain bid logs, proposal tracking, and procurement spreadsheets.
• Create Excel‑based bid leveling sheets to compare subcontractor proposals.
• Identify scope differences, exclusions, and pricing gaps between bids.
• Organize project documents, plans, and subcontractor correspondence.

Required profile

• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Basic understanding of construction drawings and plans.
• Highly detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Self‑motivated with a willingness to learn.
• Exposure to construction, estimating, architecture, engineering, or real‑estate is a plus but not required.

Required skills

• Excel (basic to intermediate)
