Jumbo Operator – Underground Mining

About the role

OceanaGold is looking for an experienced Jumbo Operator to run and maintain jumbo drilling equipment at the underground Didipio mine in the Philippines. The role reports to the mining supervisor and focuses on safe, efficient drilling to support gold‑copper production.

Key responsibilities

• Operate Sandvik DD421 jumbo drilling equipment safely and efficiently in underground conditions.
• Apply advanced drilling techniques to improve accuracy and productivity.
• Train and mentor junior operators on best practices and equipment handling.
• Maintain and troubleshoot other underground mining equipment as required.
• Follow all mining safety protocols and report operational status to the supervisor.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience operating jumbo drilling equipment, preferably Sandvik DD421.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Strong knowledge of underground mining operations and safety procedures.
• Physical endurance and ability to work in confined underground environments.
