IT Risk Officer

About the role

The IT Risk Officer will lead the management of IT and information security risks for a bank. Acting as the Chief Information Security Officer, the role ensures that risk exposures are identified, mitigated, and aligned with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of IT and information security systems.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and monitor risk exposures.
• Create, maintain, and align IT risk and security policies with industry best practices and regulations.
• Lead incident response, develop response plans, and coordinate with stakeholders during and after security events.
• Oversee compliance with laws, regulations, and standards; coordinate internal and external audits and implement corrective actions.
• Engage with business units to integrate risk management practices and report risk issues to senior management and the board.
• Develop and deliver training programs to promote a culture of risk awareness.
• Contribute to strategic planning of IT and security initiatives and provide expert risk advice.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing IT risk and information security in a banking environment.
• Ability to lead incident response and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting to senior leadership and the board.
