IT Operations Engineer (with IT Risk)

About the role

ING is hiring a mid-level IT Operations Engineer in Manila to manage infrastructure and operating environments, respond to incidents and improve system reliability through automation and continuous improvement. You will work across enterprise-scale platforms and collaborate with global teams to keep systems secure, available and resilient, within a globally connected operations environment supporting critical banking services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Linux and Windows environments
• Support virtualized and containerized platforms
• Monitor system performance and resolve incidents
• Automate operational tasks and improve efficiency
• Enhance system reliability, availability and scalability
• Support IT risk controls, audit evidence collection and remediation activities
• Partner with engineering, security and architecture teams to strengthen operational processes

Required profile

• Proactive, adaptable and passionate about operational excellence
• Experience supporting IT risk controls, audit activities, compliance requirements or remediation tracking (essential)
• Nice to have: database knowledge (SQL) and experience with disaster recovery and high-availability environments

Required skills

• Linux and Windows administration
• Virtualization (VMware or similar) and containers (Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift)
• Cloud exposure (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Networking basics: DNS, firewalls, load balancing
• Scripting and automation (Python, Bash, Go)
• CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git) and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
• Monitoring and observability (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK)
• Incident and problem management
