About the role

ING Retail Tech PH is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a cross-functional team that works with the latest technologies to build innovative solutions. The engineer reports to a Chapter Lead, who guides their professional development.

Key responsibilities

Develop and maintain reliable applications
Set up CI/CD pipelines
Write automated tests
Adopt a DevOps and Agile mindset
Collaborate with a cross-functional team to define and design features
Incorporate security best practices into every stage of development
Contribute to the team's growth through mentorship and technical interviews
Keep learning and staying up to date with new technologies and trends

Required profile

Proven experience building backend systems, including RESTful APIs, database integration and messaging services
Strong software engineering foundations: OOP, functional programming, design patterns, concurrency and TDD
Agile collaboration across diverse, multicultural teams

Required skills

Strong backend programming (Java/Spring Boot, Golang, etc.)
Kubernetes and Docker
Bash scripting
CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
