About the role
The Healthcare Utilization Management (UM) Coordinator supports the efficient flow of prior authorizations, referrals, and utilization reviews within a medical setting. This role ensures that all processing is accurate, timely, and compliant with relevant regulations, contributing to optimal patient care and resource use.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and submission of prior authorizations for medical services.
- Coordinate referrals between healthcare providers and external specialists.
- Conduct utilization reviews to assess the appropriateness of requested services.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support compliance requirements.
