About the role

The Healthcare Skilled Intake Specialist will serve as the first point of contact for patients, handling inquiries across multiple channels while ensuring accurate information collection and seamless coordination with internal teams. This fully remote position requires empathy, attention to detail, and strict adherence to healthcare compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound calls, emails, and chats for healthcare-related inquiries.
• Gather accurate patient information and verify insurance coverage and eligibility.
• Guide patients through the intake process with clarity, empathy, and professionalism.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless patient transitions and follow‑throughs.
• Accurately document all interactions and maintain compliance with healthcare standards.
• Resolve concerns promptly while maintaining a high standard of patient care.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in a healthcare, medical, or call‑center environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and prior authorization is a strong plus.
• Compassionate communicator who makes people feel safe and well‑taken‑care‑of.
• Detail‑oriented and accurate when handling sensitive patient information.
• Comfortable navigating multiple systems and managing high call volumes.
• HIPAA‑aware and committed to confidentiality and compliance.
• Flexible with shifting schedules and reliable in a fully remote setup.
