Head of Quality Assurance and Business Analyst (PLUK)

About the role

This role leads a hybrid team of 10 or more Business Analysts and Quality Assurance professionals within the Engineering and Business Analysis Team. It ensures alignment between business requirements and technical delivery while maintaining quality assurance across initiatives. The position translates business needs into actionable system requirements and oversees QA processes to deliver high-quality insurance technology solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering and analysis across business units, keeping them well defined, traceable and aligned with strategic objectives.
• Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with business users, project managers, architects and developers on requirements clarity and feasibility.
• Oversee Business Requirement Documents, Functional Specification Documents and Process Flow Diagrams.
• Drive prioritization and backlog management of business requirements.
• Provide domain expertise in life insurance products, policy administration systems and regulatory compliance.
• Facilitate requirements validation, UAT coordination and stakeholder sign-offs.
• Mentor and coach Business Analysts.
• Supervise QA activities, including test planning, execution and reporting.
• Review and approve test plans, test cases and test strategies.
• Manage defects through JIRA (and JIRA Xray) with development teams.
• Promote QA best practices, including automation and continuous improvement.
• Identify quality risks early and ensure compliance with data privacy, information security and insurance regulatory standards.
• Support QA tool evaluation and drive alignment between BA and QA functions.
