Head of Application - PruOne and Products

About the role

Prudential is looking for a Head of Application for its PruOne and Products area in Metro Manila. The role ensures that technical deliverables match business stakeholder standards, works with the regional platform team, and leads the design and end-to-end delivery of a local solution or integrations with partner systems and external APIs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expertise in requirement gathering and analysis, solution design and documentation, and end-to-end technology delivery of business initiatives.
• Analyze current technology trends, the regional technology roadmap and the company's current technology state, and design for future convergence and sustainability.
• Document and monitor requirements for proposed updates, prepare technical specifications and maintain the changes.
• Partner with distribution, underwriting and product teams to deliver a seamless digital journey, and implement appropriate technical solutions to problems.
• Ensure development and implementation comply with IT governance policy, and lead the design of scalable, secure, high-performing applications.
• Establish a software framework and development standards aligned with regional direction, and propose contributions from other departments.
• Account for project technical challenges such as risks, time, resources and scope, and build detailed specifications for proposed solutions.
• Lead an internal team in implementing a local in-house mobile or web app, and lead technical integrations with regional platforms and third-party partners such as eWallet and bank partners.
• Oversee project strategies and processes, develop software testing guidelines, and plan technical support and application management after go-live of critical apps.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Management.
• Proven leadership experience in the IT industry, managing teams and delivering IT projects or services.
• Strong understanding of IT principles, technologies and trends relevant to the business domain.
• Excellent leadership, people management, strategic thinking and project management skills, with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of IT application architecture and design methodologies across multiple platforms.
• Knowledge of non-functional areas such as performance, scalability and software design.
• Extensive knowledge of SDLC processes and experience with Agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban.
