Head of Engineering and Business Analysis

About the role

Prudential is looking for a Head of Engineering and Business Analysis to oversee and manage a department within its Technology function. The role drives strategic initiatives, fosters collaboration and ensures effective delivery of technology services and solutions, combining strong leadership, communication and technical skills with the ability to align technology efforts with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Build an IT strategic framework covering PLUK's IT assets and technology programs, and monitor financial and non-financial performance metrics for each strategic KPI.
• Define the scope of testing, design test plans and strategies, and ensure testing objectives are met, using automation and performance testing methods.
• Mentor and develop team members so they have the skills and knowledge to be productive.
• Develop and execute the IT Tribe's strategic plans, collaborate with stakeholders to set priorities and goals, and manage budget, personnel and tools.
• Engage product owners and business leads, build strong relationships and act as a trusted advisor on technology matters.
• Oversee delivery of IT products and services, monitor project progress, manage risks and implement quality assurance processes.
• Foster continuous improvement, process optimization, automation, agile methodologies and emerging technologies.
• Promote collaboration and clear communication across IT tribes and with other departments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Management.
• Proven leadership experience in the IT industry, managing teams and delivering IT projects or services.
• Strong strategic thinking, project management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to explain complex IT concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of SDLC processes.
• Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Proficiency in testing methodologies, including automation and performance testing.
