General Maintenance (Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Technician)

About the role

The General Maintenance Worker – Refrigeration and Air‑Conditioning (RAC) Technician ensures that the hospital’s HVAC and refrigeration systems operate efficiently, providing a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors. This full‑time, entry‑level position involves installation, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of air‑conditioning, ventilation and cooling equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on air‑conditioning units, refrigeration systems and ventilation equipment.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and equipment inspections according to established schedules.
• Perform basic electrical and mechanical tasks such as checking/replacing light fixtures, inspecting outlets and switches, cleaning battery terminals and addressing minor water leaks.
• Ensure compliance with hospital standards, safety regulations and preventive maintenance programs.
