General Accounting Officer

About the role

The General Accounting Officer will lead detailed account analysis, reconciliations, and support month‑end and year‑end closing activities. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, addresses complex accounting queries, and contributes to audit preparations while identifying process improvement opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze complex accounting transactions and reconcile accounts.
• Prepare management reports with variance explanations.
• Review journal entries and financial statements during month‑end and year‑end closes.
• Respond to intricate accounting queries and provide guidance to the team.
• Assist internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and analyses.
• Identify and recommend corrective actions for discrepancies.
• Update the bank’s manuals and ensure compliance with accounting standards and BSP MOR.
• Support the preparation of audited financial statements.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or a business course with a major in Accounting.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in a bank or quasi‑bank.
• Strong understanding of Accounting Standards and BSP MOR.
• Team‑player, dependable, and reliable.
• CPA certification is an advantage.
