General Accountant (Onsite, Legazpi City)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented General Accountant to join our team in Legazpi City. The role is onsite and operates on a four‑day work week, handling the full spectrum of accounting and payroll functions with minimal supervision. You will ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with local tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing and bank reconciliations.
• Process payroll end‑to‑end, covering statutory deductions, pensions and related reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyse monthly management reports, KPIs, variance and cash‑flow statements.
• Lead year‑end closing, including balance‑sheet reconciliations, journal entries and financial statement preparation.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, corporation tax and self‑assessment returns, and liaise with tax authorities as needed.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance data accuracy across financial systems.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax regulations and payroll processes.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting and payroll software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Dext or BrightPay.
• Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
