Fresh Manager

About the role

The Fresh Manager oversees all aspects of the fresh department, including produce, meat, seafood, dairy, bakery, and deli sections. This role ensures product freshness, exceptional customer service, and strict compliance with food safety standards while meeting sales, margin, and labor targets.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with customers in fresh sections, resolve complaints, and ensure satisfaction.
• Direct daily operations of fresh food displays, back‑room, and production areas.
• Supervise receiving, stocking, and merchandising of fresh goods.
• Order merchandise, coordinate with suppliers, and monitor stock levels to reduce waste.
• Enforce hygiene and sanitation standards and ensure compliance with local food safety regulations.
• Control costs, meet labor targets, and maintain profit margins; track and report sales performance.
• Train, motivate, and supervise staff; handle scheduling, performance monitoring, and disciplinary actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Technology, or a related field (preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience in retail or supermarket operations, preferably managing fresh food sections.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
• Experience with inventory control and supplier coordination.
