Family Practitioner / General Practitioner

About the role

The Family Practitioner will join a modern clinic on Cortes Island to deliver comprehensive primary care to the local community. This position offers the chance to work in a supportive, remote environment with a focus on culturally safe, longitudinal patient relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general primary care, including consultations, examinations, and urgent same‑day access.
• Deliver services in addictions medicine, primary reproductive care, and minor medical procedures.
• Manage chronic diseases, conduct ongoing monitoring, and ensure follow‑up care.
• Support community health goals by increasing patient attachment year over year.
• Collaborate with nurses, pharmacists, and other clinic staff in a multidisciplinary setting.

Required profile

• Medical degree with a valid licence to practice family medicine in British Columbia.
• Experience in rural or remote primary care settings is preferred.
• Commitment to culturally safe care for Indigenous and diverse populations.
• Willingness to work part‑time (2‑4 physicians) or full‑time as needed.

• Recruitment incentive up to $20,000 (full‑time equivalent).
• Relocation reimbursement up to $15,000.
• Retention premium of 16.07% and annual flat fee of $24,896.
