Family Practitioner – Primary Care Physician

About the role

The Family Practitioner will join a modern clinic on Cortes Island to deliver comprehensive primary care to the local community. This position offers the chance to build long‑term relationships with patients in a culturally safe, remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general primary care, including consultations, examinations, and urgent same‑day access.
• Deliver services in addictions medicine, primary reproductive care, and minor medical procedures.
• Manage chronic diseases, conduct ongoing monitoring, and ensure follow‑up care.
• Support the clinic’s goal of increasing patient attachment year over year.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and a remote pharmacy to coordinate care.

Required profile

• Medical degree and licensure to practice as a Family/General Practitioner in British Columbia.
• Willingness to work in a remote, community‑focused environment.
• Commitment to providing culturally safe care for diverse populations.

What we offer

• Potential additional remuneration under the Rural Subsidiary Agreement, including a recruitment incentive up to $20,000.
• Relocation reimbursement up to $15,000.
• Retention premium of 16.07% and a flat annual fee of $24,896.
• Rural CME funding ranging from $1,320 to $5,720 per year based on tenure.
• Modern clinic facilities with two exam rooms, a PCP office, a nurses’ room, a remote pharmacy, and a treatment space.
