Facilities Technician

About the role

The Facilities Technician is responsible for routine maintenance, repairs and operational tasks to keep building systems safe and efficient. Working within the facilities management team, you will respond to work orders, perform preventive maintenance and support HVAC, electrical and other building equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting and HVAC trades.
• Respond promptly to work orders, diagnose problems accurately and complete repairs using appropriate tools.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance, including inspections, lubrication, filter changes and calibrations on HVAC, pumps, motors, generators and life‑safety systems.
• Monitor and maintain heating, ventilation and air‑conditioning systems, change filters, clean coils and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Assist with operation and monitoring of building management, fire alarm and security systems, responding to alarms and escalating complex issues.
• Document all maintenance activities in the CMMS and flag potential issues for specialist intervention.

Required profile

• Hands‑on approach to maintenance tasks with ability to work across multiple trades.
• Strong diagnostic skills to identify and resolve equipment problems.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
