Entry-Level IT Security Analyst

About the role

The Entry‑Level IT Security Analyst monitors and analyses security alerts generated by tools such as Wazuh and Bitdefender. Working under the IT Security Manager, the analyst validates alerts, inspects affected devices, gathers evidence, and records findings in the ticketing system.

Key responsibilities

• Review and acknowledge security alerts promptly, ensuring no event remains unattended.
• Collect relevant data from Wazuh, Bitdefender, OS logs, ticket history, and asset records before forming an assessment.
• Perform remote or physical inspections of affected endpoints using approved checklists and safety procedures.
• Capture and preserve evidence to support escalation, investigation, remediation, and audit activities.
• Classify incidents using the severity matrix and escalate suspected malware, unauthorized access, data exposure, policy violations, or uncertain findings to the incident lead.
• Execute only authorized containment actions and report any business impact or tool failure immediately.
• Verify that remediation steps—such as scans, updates, quarantine, patches, or credential actions—are completed and effective.
• Identify inactive agents, outdated components, logging gaps, and other conditions that reduce security visibility.
• Maintain accurate incident records in the ticketing system, distinguishing confirmed facts from pending validation.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of IT and information security concepts.
• Ability to work within defined access and response boundaries and to escalate uncertainty promptly.
• Attention to detail and commitment to protecting confidential information.
• Strong analytical mindset for reviewing logs and evidence.

Required skills

• Experience with Wazuh security monitoring.
• Experience with Bitdefender endpoint protection.
