About the role
The Doorman provides a warm, gracious, and professional welcome and farewell to all guests, creating a strong first and last impression of the hotel. As an ambassador of Mandarin Oriental, the role upholds legendary service standards in a pre‑opening environment.
Key responsibilities
- Greet guests, visitors, and patrons courteously at the hotel entrance.
- Open vehicle and hotel doors, assisting guests upon arrival and departure.
- Coordinate with Bellman and Concierge for luggage handling and guest assistance.
- Provide directions, basic hotel information, and assistance with immediate guest needs.
- Assist guests in obtaining transportation such as taxis, ride‑services, or limousines.
- Recognize VIPs, repeat guests, and long‑stay guests to ensure personalized attention.
- Manage traffic flow at the entrance, guiding vehicles to appropriate drop‑off and pick‑up points.
- Work with Security and Valet (if applicable) to maintain order and safety.
- Keep the entrance area clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
