Director of School of Regulation and Global Governance

About the role

The Australian National University seeks an internationally recognised scholar to lead its School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet). This senior academic position will shape the school’s research and teaching agenda on regulation, governance, climate change, conflict, disruptive technologies, inequality and geopolitical challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic academic leadership for RegNet, overseeing research, education and outreach activities.
• Foster collaboration among scholars, practitioners and policy makers to address global societal challenges.
• Develop and implement the school’s vision, goals and performance metrics.
• Represent RegNet within the university and external networks, enhancing its international reputation.
• Secure funding, manage budgets and support faculty recruitment and development.

Required profile

• Distinguished record of scholarly achievement in regulation, governance or related fields.
• Proven experience in senior academic leadership or comparable executive roles.
• International reputation and a strong network of academic and policy contacts.
• Demonstrated ability to attract research funding and build interdisciplinary programmes.
