DevOps Engineer II (AWS)

About the role

The Cloud DevOps Engineer will join the Cloud Foundations team to design, build and operate secure, governed cloud services on AWS. You will work with global product owners, applying agile and ITIL practices to deliver infrastructure as code solutions that support both new and existing IaaS and serverless workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement Boehringer‑standard solutions using Terraform and CloudFormation for networking, patching, backup, policies and access control.
• Maintain and upgrade legacy IaC stacks, migrate to newer Terraform and Bitbucket releases.
• Monitor cloud environments, respond to alerts, and resolve day‑2 operational issues.
• Provide user support for access, MFA, key management and security remediation.
• Ensure health of cloud environments – patching, anti‑virus, backups, performance thresholds.
• Create and maintain runbooks and support documentation.
• Follow ITIL processes (change, problem, incident, configuration) and agile Scrum ceremonies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of networking and security concepts (VPC, routing, firewalls, VPN, TCP/IP, security groups, anti‑virus, risk remediation).
