Database Support Analyst 1

About the role

Under guidance, the Database Support Analyst 1 is responsible for creating and maintaining the IQVIA database. The role involves keeping the common master file accurate and up to date, resolving database exceptions and following established rules and protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of additions and modifications to the common master file, based on input from internal and external sources, and understand the impact of each change on all stakeholders.
• Resolve assigned file-code database exceptions through setup and/or maintenance within the file.
• Maintain all work in line with rules and protocols, verify maintenance daily and apply corrections as needed.
• Make decisions independently while ensuring they follow the protocols.
• Visually monitor data for trends in monthly and quarterly client information.
• Maintain documentation of quality control procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and two years of work-related experience, or a high school diploma or equivalent with four years of experience in IQVIA database operations.
• Good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and ability to diagnose trends.
• Ability to identify and eliminate repetitive problems and standardize processes, or help develop new tools, using existing research tools.

Required skills

• Experience with mainframe tools such as JCL, SAS and IQVIA PACT is preferred.
• Proficiency in Windows applications such as Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
