Senior Statistical Programmer (Remote, Philippines)

About the role

ICON Strategic Solutions is looking for a Senior Statistical Programmer to join its sponsor-dedicated team in the Philippines, working remotely. The role develops, validates and executes statistical programs supporting clinical trial analysis and reporting, contributing to accurate interpretation of clinical data. The position suits someone amenable to a home-based setup and a mid-shift schedule (2pm-11pm).

Key responsibilities

• Develop, validate and maintain complex statistical programs (SAS, R or similar) for data manipulation, analysis and reporting in clinical trials.
• Collaborate with biostatisticians and cross-functional teams to interpret study requirements and implement statistical analyses accurately.
• Prepare and review statistical analysis plans (SAPs), programming specifications and derived datasets to meet regulatory standards.
• Ensure data integrity and compliance with industry regulations, including ICH/GCP guidelines, throughout the programming process.
• Mentor junior programmers and help train team members on programming techniques and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
• Proven experience as a statistical programmer in the clinical research industry, with strong knowledge of statistical methods and programming.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex statistical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Legal right to work in the country where the role is based.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAS, R or Python
• Experience with clinical data management systems
