Control Room Engineer

About the role

The Control Room Engineer will operate, regulate and monitor all generating units, including the binary plant and its auxiliary equipment, to ensure safe, efficient and reliable power production.

Key responsibilities

• Optimize unit efficiency by continuously monitoring parameters and reporting deviations.
• Perform start‑up and shut‑down of generating units according to SOPs and OEM standards.
• Execute remote switching of circuit breakers and disconnect switches in coordination with maintenance, grid substation engineers and system operators.
• Conduct functional tests of plant protection, standby and emergency equipment as part of preventive maintenance.
• Monitor critical operating parameters, inspect instrumentation, and initiate corrective actions when abnormalities are detected.
• Coordinate with traders, system operators, steam suppliers, grid operators, chemical laboratory, and maintenance teams for load scheduling, steam supply, water quality and equipment maintenance.
• Record hourly readings of turbine‑generator and auxiliary equipment, and prepare data analyses and reports.

Required profile

• Experience operating power‑plant control rooms and familiarity with standard operating procedures.
• Knowledge of OEM standards for mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams including maintenance, grid operators and chemical labs.
• Strong attention to detail for monitoring, inspection and data recording.
