Contracts Administrator – Coastal Engineering Projects

About the role

The Coastal Engineering Contracts Administrator will oversee all contractual aspects of coastal and marine engineering projects, ensuring compliance, supporting commercial and legal matters, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, reviewing, and administering engineering and construction contracts (FIDIC, NEC, bespoke).
• Maintain contract documentation, registers, variation logs, and correspondence records.
• Support interim payment applications, valuations, final accounts, and monitor contract budgets.
• Prepare and evaluate variation orders, claims, and extensions of time.
• Assist procurement activities, tender documentation, bid evaluation, and subcontract administration.
• Liaise with project engineers, planners, quantity surveyors, legal team, clients, consultants, and subcontractors on contract matters.
• Identify contractual risks, ensure statutory compliance, and support audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of contract administration experience, preferably in coastal, marine or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with FIDIC or similar standard forms of contract.
• Strong understanding of project cost control, variation management and basic contract law.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational abilities.
