Clinical Pharmacist

About the role

The Clinical Pharmacist will work full‑time on‑site at Metro Davao Medical and Research Center, providing safe and effective medication therapy for patients. The role involves close collaboration with physicians, nurses and other health professionals to optimise pharmacotherapy and support hospital clinical programs.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify medication orders to ensure appropriateness and safety.
• Provide medication counselling to patients and monitor for drug interactions and adverse effects.
• Participate in multidisciplinary clinical rounds and contribute to patient‑care plans.
• Support antimicrobial stewardship and other hospital‑based clinical initiatives.
• Oversee compounding and preparation of medications in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate medication records, assist with pharmacy inventory, and uphold quality‑assurance processes.
• Assist in developing pharmacy policies and deliver staff education on pharmacotherapy and medication safety.

Required profile

• Strong experience in pharmacy practice within hospital or clinical settings.
• Valid pharmacist licence and eligibility to practice under national and local regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD (or equivalent qualification).
• Knowledge of clinical guidelines, formulary management and medication‑safety principles.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills with multidisciplinary health teams.
• Attention to detail, analytical mindset and commitment to patient‑centred care.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Davao City and cover shift‑based or weekend schedules as needed.
