Business Controller – Global Technology

About the role

ING is looking for a Business Controller – Global Technology to join its Global Finance team in the Philippines. You will prepare high‑quality management information for Finance & Risk, Retail Banking & Technology and the Chief Information Security Office, supporting a technology cost base of roughly €300 million.

Key responsibilities

• Review actuals and validate the month‑end close.
• Deliver management reporting with evidence‑based commentary on performance, variances, risks and opportunities.
• Challenge assumptions and provide actionable financial insights to Finance and Global Technology stakeholders.
• Own recurring and ad‑hoc financial control deliverables, ensuring timely, accurate, high‑quality outputs.
• Identify and resolve financial risks, data inconsistencies, control gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Support SOX reporting and analysis with audit‑ready data and evidence.
• Execute budget transfers between entities.
• Forecast and present monthly reports for a designated Tech Finance & Procurement department.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering or related field; CPA, CMA, CFA or a master’s degree is a plus.
• Strong business acumen in the Global Technology domain with practical knowledge of IT operations and cost controlling.
• Experience in a complex global matrix organization, preferably in banking, technology, shared services or multinational environments.
• Expertise in month‑end close, actuals reporting, planning, forecasting, cost management, variance analysis and management commentary.
• Structured, rigorous control mindset with ability to validate financial movements and deliver audit‑ready outputs.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with Hyperion, SmartView, Oracle EPM, Power BI or Power Query is advantageous.
• Strong ownership, sound judgment and proactive follow‑through on financial control, SOX reporting and performance management.
