Backend Senior Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Senior Manager to lead the technical direction of our backend services at Coins, the leading crypto platform in the Philippines. You will shape the architecture, drive development and ensure the platform meets business, security and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the backend technical strategy, roadmap and system architecture aligned with business goals and regulatory standards.
• Lead the design and optimization of core backend systems, selecting frameworks, technology stacks (Java, Go, Python, Node.js) and deployment models (on‑prem, cloud, hybrid).
• Introduce and champion advanced technologies such as microservice architecture, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and alerting.
• Oversee the full development lifecycle: demand review, design, coding, testing, integration, deployment, iteration and maintenance.
• Ensure scalability, high availability, security and compliance for critical services like spot trading, derivatives, payments, authentication and settlement.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience managing backend engineering teams.
• Deep knowledge of backend development, system architecture and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of security and compliance requirements for digital asset platforms.
• Proven ability to align technical solutions with business objectives and regulatory constraints.
