Assistant Director for Sports Program Development

About the role

The Assistant Director for Sports Program Development oversees daily operations of the university's sports academies and leads the creation of grassroots sports programs for grade school, junior high, and senior high varsity teams. The role ensures alignment with university policies and supports the development of athletic excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and monitor grassroots sports programs across basic education schools to build long‑term talent pipelines.
• Provide strategic direction that aligns programs with the mission, vision, and values of the University Athletics Office.
• Coordinate with Sports Program Heads and the Assistant Director for Operations to select appropriate leagues, tournaments, and competition schedules.
• Track team participation, performance, and program effectiveness, delivering regular reports to internal stakeholders.
• Recommend improvements for facilities, resource allocation, and training schedules.
• Coach and mentor Sports Program Heads and coaches on training methods and player development.
• Represent the Director in university committees, meetings, and external stakeholder engagements.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in managing sports programs or athletic development initiatives.
• Strong understanding of grassroots sports development and talent identification.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to analyze program data and produce actionable reports.
