App Packager II

About the role

The App Packager II will serve as a subject‑matter expert for Windows Installer technology, SCCM, and application integration within a fast‑paced environment. The role requires delivering high‑quality packaged applications, providing support, and mentoring team members while ensuring compliance with best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain MSI/MSP/MSM/MST packages using tools such as Wise Package Studio, InstallShield, and PACE.
• Perform ICE validation, conflict analysis, and unit testing for each package.
• Utilize diagnostic utilities (Regmon, Filemon, Beyond Compare, Picture Taker, Dependency Walker, InstallRite) to troubleshoot and optimize installations.
• Create installations from scratch, covering the full lifecycle from requirements gathering to delivery.
• Develop and maintain scripts (VBScript, Wise Script, batch) for automation and deployment.
• Provide training, mentorship, and knowledge‑base article creation for first‑level support.
• Collaborate with internal development teams to act as an SME on application delivery.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives and document process changes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of IT experience in application packaging and Windows Installer technology.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards of customer service.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on troubleshooting complex packaging issues.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and delivering training material.
