Ammonia Operator – Refrigeration Systems

About the role

The Ammonia Operator is a full‑time, on‑site position at Sunpride Foods in Cebu. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the ammonia refrigeration systems that support meat processing and storage.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, start, and shut down ammonia refrigeration equipment.
• Adjust controls to maintain required temperatures and pressures.
• Perform routine inspections to detect leaks, unusual noises, or abnormal conditions.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with maintenance technicians and supervisors for repairs.
• Maintain accurate operational logs and records.
• Follow standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and food‑safety/environmental regulations.
• Work in cold environments, respond to emergencies, and participate in rotating shifts or on‑call schedules as needed.

Required profile

• Demonstrated knowledge of industrial ammonia refrigeration systems (compressors, condensers, evaporators, valves, controls).
• Strong understanding of safety practices for handling ammonia and other refrigerants.
• Experience monitoring equipment, recording system readings, and maintaining logs.
• Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance and support troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with food manufacturing, cold storage, or similar industrial environments (preferred).
• Basic mechanical or electrical aptitude with ability to use hand tools, testing instruments, and plant monitoring systems.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to follow SOPs with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work on‑site.
