Accountant (Healthcare)

About the role

Alumus, a growing healthcare company in the United States, is looking for a motivated Accountant to join the team through its employment partner Deel. The role focuses on monthly close, financial statement preparation, and supporting accounts payable across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Full‑cycle accounting for skilled nursing, senior housing, home health, and hospice facilities.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statements.
• Perform account reconciliations and month‑end adjusting journal entries.
• Drive process and procedure improvements.
• Collaborate closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll teams.
• Handle special projects for senior leadership as needed.
• Oversee state tax filings where applicable.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
• At least 3 years of experience applying GAAP.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Healthcare industry experience preferred.
• Team‑oriented mindset with strong analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive).
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
• Experience with full‑cycle financial production.
• Familiarity with payroll systems and reporting.
• Understanding of state tax filing processes.
