Technical Business Analyst (Implementation Consultant)

About the role

Hunt St helps Australian companies hire remote talent in the Philippines. This Technical Business Analyst (Implementation Consultant) role is 100% remote, paid $1,500-$3,000 AUD per month under an independent contractor agreement, and is open to Philippines-based candidates. The client is a management consulting firm offering strategic advisory, digital transformation, technology and talent solutions. The consultant is customer-facing and implements the customer's requirements using the company's configuration tools, covering data models, document templates, business rules, financial calculations and workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Elicit and critically evaluate customer requirements, reconciling conflicts and distinguishing user requests from true needs
• Translate requirements into technical and functional requirements and prepare documentation for business processes and product configuration
• Design and implement insurance products and claim data models, and build user interfaces and user journeys
• Implement business rules and financial calculations using scripting language, and prepare and run system and integration tests
• Analyse data conversion requirements and define data transformation and mapping
• Facilitate stakeholder discussions, present findings and act as customer liaison on site
• Manage project scope, plan and costs, identify risks and report progress to customers and management
• Create and maintain project documentation such as change requests, risk registers and tracking reports
• Collaborate with the development team on new features and support colleagues and company best practices

Required profile

• Thorough understanding of the software development project lifecycle
• Business analyst or technical business analyst experience
• Degree qualified or equivalent commercial experience
• Commercial experience in waterfall and agile methodologies
• Experience configuring large and complex software packages
• Proven stakeholder management and customer-facing skills, including handling difficult conversations
• Experience in general insurance (policy and claims) is highly desirable
