Subcontract Manager

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Subcontract Manager to lead the subcontract function on construction projects. The role ensures contractual compliance, manages budgets, and coordinates resources to deliver project objectives while supporting the company’s sustainability mission.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and analyse subcontract agreements, focusing on clauses that protect company interests.
• Act as the primary liaison between client and subcontractors, resolving conflicts and ensuring contract compliance.
• Oversee the Sub‑Contract Department, planning workload, managing a team of Quantity Surveyors, and mentoring junior staff.
• Develop and control the master subcontractor procurement budget, including man‑hours, equipment and material estimates.
• Collaborate with Procurement to negotiate, award and onboard subcontractors.
• Evaluate monthly payment certificates, update cash‑flow forecasts and report variances.
• Support the main contract interim application process with accurate assessments of work completed.
• Manage subcontract change control and provide contractual leadership to procurement and project teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in subcontract management within the construction sector.
• Strong understanding of contract law and procurement processes.
• Ability to lead and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
