Service Technician – Property Maintenance

About the role

Progress, a leading nationwide property manager of single‑family rental homes, is seeking a Service Technician I to support the upkeep of its residential portfolio. You will work directly with residents and internal teams to ensure units are move‑in ready, safe, and well‑maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs, replacements, and general maintenance on apartments, common areas, and exterior grounds.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC systems and other building equipment.
• Assist with make‑readies, preventive‑maintenance schedules, and documentation per company guidelines.
• Identify hazardous conditions, report them to the Community and Service Managers, and help maintain a safe environment.
• Share on‑call duties, including response to inclement‑weather emergencies.
• Maintain and secure company‑issued tools and post community notices as needed.

Required profile

• 6 months to 1 year of general maintenance or safety experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic computer literacy for job‑related tasks.
• Ability to work manually under direct supervision and follow OSHA and local code requirements.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Proficiency with hand tools specific to property maintenance.
• Basic computer skills.
