Maintenance Director – Property Management

About the role

OurAssistants is looking for an experienced Maintenance Director to lead and optimise maintenance operations for a growing U.S.-based property management company. This remote, full‑time role focuses on building scalable systems, improving efficiency, and delivering high‑quality service across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day maintenance operations, work order management and vendor coordination, ensuring timely completion and service quality.
• Build and implement scalable maintenance workflows, SOPs and best practices, identifying bottlenecks and recommending improvements.
• Lead, mentor and develop maintenance coordinators and operational staff, monitoring performance through KPIs and reporting.
• Manage maintenance workflows, reporting and tracking within AppFolio, ensuring accurate documentation and generating efficiency reports.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors and technicians to maintain compliance, accountability and performance standards.

Required profile

• 4–5+ years of experience in property management maintenance operations.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AppFolio (required).
• Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams or departments.
• Experience supporting larger property management portfolios or scaling maintenance operations.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
