About the role
The Service Desk Technician will deliver reliable, responsive support to Byrnecut Group employees and contractors. You will act as the first point of contact for IT issues, ensuring a positive customer experience and maintaining a service‑oriented attitude.
Key responsibilities
- Assist users with installed software and desktop applications.
- Provide PC hardware support, including builds, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Perform desktop support and manage software licensing audits.
- Handle telephone support for company mobile phones.
- Test and evaluate new technologies.
- Liaise with vendors, contractors, and internal staff for purchases and operational support.
- Provide ad‑hoc assistance such as email management, virus remediation, and backup administration.
- Carry out any other tasks as directed.
Required profile
- Preferably an IT tertiary level certificate or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar service desk or technical support role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organised with the ability to meet deadlines.
