About the role

Canva is looking for a Senior Social Media Operations Lead to head its Advanced Social Media Team in Manila. You will combine people leadership, operational rigor, and high‑stakes social media expertise to ensure millions of users feel heard and supported.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Advanced Social Media Team, setting direction, building capability, and maintaining a high quality bar.
• Own crisis and incident leadership for social media, coordinating with Marketing, Communications, and external partners during high‑visibility situations.
• Translate Canva’s strategic priorities into actionable team plans that align with the broader User Voice mission.
• Drive operational excellence by monitoring KPIs, identifying process gaps, and championing improvements.
• Create and maintain frameworks, playbooks, and documentation to enable consistent and confident team operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading specialist or subject‑matter‑expert teams and building high‑trust cultures.
• Deep social media expertise, including crisis handling, sensitive content navigation, and final decision‑making on complex escalations.
• Natural coach who provides calibrated, growth‑accelerating feedback.
• Ability to balance strategic direction with day‑to‑day operational accountability.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills without relying on formal authority.
