Senior I/O Engineering Analyst – Technical Support & Patch Management

About the role

Optum is seeking a Senior I/O Engineering Analyst to provide L1/L2 technical support, manage patch deployment, and drive vulnerability remediation across multiple client environments. The role combines hands‑on troubleshooting of server infrastructure, Citrix, AVD and Microsoft 365 services with proactive security patching using Tanium.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L1/L2 support for server infrastructure, Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and day‑to‑day system issues across multiple clients.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to Microsoft 365, Exchange, and collaboration tools.
• Deploy software using Tanium Deploy, SCCM/MECM, PDQ Deploy and manage AD user groups.
• Plan, schedule, test, deploy and verify security patches for Windows and Linux systems via Tanium.
• Coordinate with application owners to validate patch compatibility and maintain patch baselines.
• Use Tanium Discover, Comply and Reveal to scan endpoints, analyze vulnerability reports and prioritize remediation.
• Track remediation efforts, generate compliance dashboards and regular status reports.
• Document SOPs for patching and vulnerability workflows and continuously improve processes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, escalate complex issues to L3 support and maintain knowledge‑base articles.
• Participate in change management activities and document all incidents in the ticketing system.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering L1/L2 technical support for Windows and Linux environments.
• Strong background in patch management and vulnerability remediation.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft 365, Exchange, Citrix and Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Familiarity with Tanium suite, SCCM/MECM and PDQ Deploy tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and follow ITIL‑based processes.
