Senior Finance Transformation & Operational Excellence Consultant

About the role

Manulife is looking for a Senior Finance Transformation & Operational Excellence Consultant to join its Operational Excellence team at MBPS. The role provides performance evaluations for consultants within the assigned squad, assessing their technical knowledge and application of technical skills during project delivery. It is a hybrid arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive a pipeline of transformation and operational excellence initiatives and programs within the assigned function(s)
• Ensure projects and services delivered by the squad are high quality, deliver expected benefits and are delivered on time and within budget
• Lead medium-sized, medium-risk, segment-specific transformation and process improvement initiatives, and act as project or program manager for complex, high-risk or organization-wide initiatives
• Provide tactical direction and guidance to the project delivery team
• Align with function and project stakeholders, build relationships with offshore business partners and collaborate with other GBS support functions
• Negotiate and resolve conflicts within the project team
• Cultivate a continuous improvement culture by leading OE Forums with offshore business partners and taking part in the GBS Operational Excellence Community of Practice
• Implement and roll out OE and Agile training plans, standards and procedures, and run management trainings and awareness sessions
• Conduct LEAN Six Sigma workshops, mentor operations leaders and coach Function Leads in running mature operations

Required profile

• At least 6 to 7 years of management experience leading process and performance improvement projects in finance and accounting, investments, actuarial or retirement operations
• At least 3 years of project management experience
• Nice to have: management consulting experience, experience leading large, cross-functional, multi-site transformations, experience working with stakeholders across geographies, and experience building a network of OE professionals

Required skills

• Lean, Six Sigma or Agile methodology (preferred)
